Eddie Polanco was born to play the guitar. Growing up in San Antonio in the mid-60's, he got his first electric guitar from a Speigle catalogue. South Texas hasn't been the same since. For the next sixteen years, Eddie rocked countless clubs and festivals with The Saints & The Sinners, Suburban Expressway, Stone Creek, Sandra's Tea, Amethyst, and Island.
Eddie rediscovered his blues roots in the early 80's and never looked back. After forming Eddie & The Allniters, he took the Texas blues world by storm, amazing audiences and fellow musicians with his brand of blues.
Eddie has played with many renowned musicians such as Augie Meyers, Jitterbug Webb, Randy Garibay, Jack Barber, to name a few. The Allniters' rotating crew is a veritable Who's Who from the San Antonio music scene.
Every member of The Allniters is a professional and "in demand" musician. The latest incarnation includes: Fred Polanco (bass), John Michael Ramirez (guitar), Ray Symczyk (guitar, accordion), and Gil Polanco (drums).
Eddie's playing can be heard on "They're Red Hot" for the Robert Johnson tribute cd of "Hot Tamales" on Bexar Nekkid Records. His long time friend and former bandmate Carl Morgan played bass and younger brother Gil was on drums. The list of musicians on this song includes Gordo Ham & Eggs, Robbie G, Mike Davis and a who's who of Texas bluesmen. He is also a featured guitarist on the True Stories cd "Estilo San Antonio" and is currently working in the studio on his latest release.
